Presidential Inauguration - Donald Trump, The 45th President of the United States of America

January 20, 2017 - Donald Trump officially became the 45th President of the United States at noon in Washington DC (6 p.m. in Paris), after taking the oath of office before the Chief Justice, on the steps of the Capitol.

With his left hand on the Bible and his right hand raised, Donald Trump took the oath of office as George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy did before him. "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and that I will, to the best of my ability, save, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States," he declared, on the steps of the Capitol, his face grave.

In his inauguration speech lasting about twenty minutes, the 45th President of the United States delivered his vision for the country: "America First." Clashes broke out between anti-Trump protesters and police in downtown Washington.

After a meal at the Capitol shared with parliamentarians, the new president and his First Lady attended the grand parade, leaving the Capitol to reach the White House, passing in front of... the Trump hotel. In the evening, Donald Trump attended three balls, including the most famous: the military ball of the "Commander in Chief".

An official “PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION DAY” postmark was put into service on January 20, 2017 in Washington DC. It was affixed to all our historical philatelic souvenirs, produced in limited editions.
