President Mubarak calls on Europe to play an 'active role' in seeking Middle East peace
The Egyptian President, Mr. Hosni Mubarak, left Cairo this Tuesday morning (January 28, 1986), for a brief trip to Europe. That same day in Strasbourg, he addressed the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, to ask Europeans to "play an active and influential role" in relaunching the peace process in the Middle East and to form a "contact group" in the perspective of an international conference.
