First meeting in the “Normandy Format“ HOLLANDE - MERKEL - PUTIN - POROSHENKO, in view of the bases of a ceasefire in Ukraine (Donbass)

French President François HOLLANDE, German Chancellor Angela MERKEL, Russian President Vladimir PUTIN and Ukrainian President Petro POROCHENKO met in Normandy on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Allied landings.

This is the first conciliation meeting between the Russian President and his Ukrainian counterpart since the outbreak of the CONFLICT OF DONBASS, in the East of UKRAINE. These quadripartite meetings (“Normandy format”) between France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine followed one another from 2014 to 2022, with a view to laying the foundations for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

A collection of philatelic documents (envelopes and stamps), designed by Historiaphil© (Philately Kiosk of the European Parliament, Strasbourg, France) marks the highlights of the 70th anniversary of the Normandy Landings and the International Ceremony of Heads of State. It was produced as a continuation of the collection of philatelic envelopes bearing witness since 1949 to the history of Europe and its institutions. All our editions have been produced in limited editions.
