Collector's Edition of only 1000 numbered envelopes - RARE
Less than a year after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Germany regained political and territorial unity which symbolized in the eyes of the world the decline of communism in Europe. The Unification Act came into force on October 3, 1990 and set out the process of integrating the five Länder (which previously formed East Germany) into the Federal Republic of Germany. Berlin is also consecrated "capital of Germany" and October 3, "Day of German Unity", becomes the National Day.
A philatelic envelope, designed by Historiaphil© (Philately Kiosk of the European Parliament, Strasbourg, France) commemorates the highlights of the Strasbourg plenary session of the European Parliament. It was produced as a continuation of the collection of philatelic envelopes bearing witness since 1949 to the history of Europe and its institutions. Its edition is limited to 1000 numbered copies.
